Purpose

The purpose of this manual is to:
• Enhance Training: Provide realistic scenarios to improve assessment and management skills.
• Promote Critical Thinking: Encourage problem-solving and decision-making in various emergency situations.
• Facilitate Learning: Offer a structured approach to learning through the SOAP format (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan).

Understanding the Flip-Cards

Each card has two sides:
• Front Side: Scenario details (patient information, location, date/time, chief complaint, and symptoms).
• Back Side: SOAP format for assessment and management.

Preparing for the Session
• Select scenarios based on training objectives.
• Gather necessary medical equipment and supplies.
• Set up the training environment.

Conducting the Training
• Brief participants on the session’s purpose.
• Assign roles (responder, patient, observer).
• Simulate the scenario, perform the assessment using the SOAP format.

Debriefing
• Review the scenario and discuss the assessment and management.
• Highlight key points and provide feedback.

Customizing Scenarios
• Modify details to create new scenarios.
• Increase complexity for advanced participants.
